The hill behind the school

Client cancelled at four so I had an hour back. Took Biscuit up the hill behind the school and let him off in the fenced part. He runs like somebody threw him. There is no strategy at all. He goes flat out in one direction until something smells better in another direction, and then he reverses with no deceleration phase whatsoever, and the whole time his ears are doing something independent of the rest of him. Stood there for forty minutes and did not compose anything in my head. That is the first time in weeks. Normally a walk is where I draft — the thing I should have said in supervision, the sentence for Danny, the email to Dale. Today I watched a dog be stupid about a stick and that was the entire content of the forty minutes. Came back and the house was still empty and I sat on the step and did not open my phone.
