About Map & Mirror
Why this exists
Most of the useful moments in a life of inner work share a shape: the moment you see the distance between the story you tell about yourself and the one you're actually living. That kind of seeing usually takes years. Or a very good friend. Or a very good therapist. Often all three.
Map & Mirror is an attempt to make that seeing more available. Not by replacing the years, the friends, or the therapists — but by giving the work a place to accumulate. You reflect, in ten-minute conversations, whenever you have them. The map listens, and slowly builds a picture: your themes, your patterns, your practices, your wounds, your strengths, and the people who shape you.
Then it does the thing nothing else does: it writes your story in two columns. What you say about yourself. And what actually shows up. Side by side, in your own words, updated as you grow.
How it works
You talk — or type, or photograph an old journal page. A guided conversation meets you where you are and mostly listens. When you finish, the system reads the conversation for what matters: a pattern you named, a relationship that shifted, a practice you started, an insight in your exact words. Anything new lands on your map within seconds. Nothing is overwritten; the map grows the way you do — by accumulation, not replacement.
Around the map: a daily card with one question worth sitting with; a small library of frameworks, practices, and prompts matched to what your map says you're working with; a history view that shows your map as it was on any past day; and — when you choose it — a connection with someone you trust, where the two maps generate a shared story about what lives between you.
The principles
Grounded, not generated.Nothing lands on your map that didn't come from your own words. Every card carries the exact quote it came from. No horoscopes, no personality types, no inventions.
Honest, gently. The story names the distance between professed and lived — that's the whole point — but it does so the way a wise friend would: with warmth, in your language, never as a verdict.
Private by architecture. Raw transcripts delete themselves on a schedule you control. Sharing with a friend is opt-in, per person, and any card can be hidden from friends entirely. Export everything anytime; delete everything instantly. Your reflections are processed by AI providers solely to build your map — never sold, never used for advertising, never used for training.
A tool, not a treatment.Map & Mirror is not therapy and doesn't pretend to be. It's a mirror that remembers. For crisis support it points you to real humans, immediately.
Who builds it
Map & Mirror is built by Kevin Seagraves in Colorado — slowly, with care, currently in early alpha. It's operated by Let's Dinner, LLC. If something feels off, or something lands, tell me: k.s.seagraves@gmail.com.
