PLACE
The second floor office

What this place is to you
The room you have worked in for four years, with a bad radiator and a chair you have never liked, where about two hundred people have told you the truth.
How it pulls on you
It accumulates. Every difficult thing anybody has said to you in four years was said within eight feet of where you sit, and you cannot tell whether that is why the room is restful or why it is heavy. It is now under threat, because Dale is talking about giving up the second floor, which would move you to the back room with the window onto the alley.
