Filing the tone rather than the fact
What it is
When Danny delivers something lightly and facing away, you believe the sentence and still cannot get your shoulders down for an hour, because your body has filed that exact delivery from a time it turned out to be much bigger than it sounded.
How it affects your life
It shows up as the light line at the sink while he rinses a pan, you pushing once (how quiet, that is not what I asked), him turning round to say we are fine, and then an hour on the couch doing nothing with your phone in your hand while he watches something. You can reconstruct the whole financial picture from things he has told you over the last month and it does not help, because what has landed is the tone.
