OPEN QUESTION
What it would take for me to say yes

The question
Danny asked, at the sink, what it would take for you to say yes to it, not soon, yes, and you did not have an answer ready. Two days of writing it down gave you one, and Tess asking the same question in a different mouth is where you said it out loud for the first time.
What hangs on it
He waited, which he does not usually do, and then said that is not what I asked, without any edge at all. You said you do not know and he let you have nothing. At eleven o'clock you are still working out what you would have said if you had been honest and quick enough, and what you arrive at is. Tell me the whole of something before I find it out. Once. On purpose, when you do not have to.
