CHAPTER
The Somerville years

What this chapter is
The two years you went north for Danny's first real contract, took a community clinic job that took the whole of you and gave back a salary, and never said cleanly that you did not like it.
How it reaches you now
You went because he had followed you around Northampton for two years and it was your turn. A caseload of thirty one, a fifty minute commute each way on a good day, twenty four years old and completely out of your depth, with two hours of supervision a month. It ended when Danny came home one evening in the spring of 2018 and asked if you wanted to just go somewhere, and you said yes before he had finished the sentence. Those years are why you still count your caseload.
