PATTERN
Keeping a tally of the soons

What it is
You have started counting how many times Danny has said soon, and you do not like that you know the number.
How it affects your life
It shows up after the conversations about timing, the ones that happen in the car. His answer is sincere and specific to him, a job finishing, a quarter that lands, a margin underneath you. What has changed is on your side. You have stopped receiving the answer as an answer and started logging it.
